Secara de facto materi awal dari album "Hectic Chaotic" ini mulai ditulis di hari terakhir sesi rekaman dari album "On Fire" sekitar bulan April 2018. Di antara jeda rekaman hari itu, Sat dan Adhie jamming dadakan di ruang rekaman dan menghasilkan embrio dari lagu "Break Down All the Walls" dan "Punk Rock Show Anthem". Dua lagu yang kemudian baru terekam secara proper beberapa tahun kemudian bersama lagu-lagu lainnya.

Proses produksi album ini pun tidak berjalan semulus harapan. Di 2020 muncul Covid-19 dan seluruh dunia kacau balau. Segala lini kehidupan kita berubah sangat drastis, termasuk dalam kehidupan bermusik pun ikut dijungkir balikan oleh pandemi. Selama 2020 hingga pertengahan 2021 pun proses pengumpulan dan penggodokan materi berlangsung. Hingga akhirnya Oktober 2021, proses rekaman album ini dimulai.

Dalam proses rekaman album ini mereka mencoba pendekatan berbeda dalam segi rekaman. Di dua album sebelum ini, "Here We Go!" dan "On Fire", seluruh personil merekam album ini di satu studio yang sama bersama-sama. Untuk album ini, Sat dan Adhie merekam gitar, drum, dan vokal di Palembang, sementara Dhony merekam bass dan vokalnya di Jakarta. Mencoba menyiasati kondisi yang masih sangat abu-abu kala itu ditambah lagi karena pandemi masih jadi isu yang sangat sensitif.

Malang tak dapat ditolak, untung tak dapat diraih. Data hasil recording gitar dan drum di bulan Oktober 2021 itu hilang karena komputer studio rekamannya rusak. Bersamaan dengan itu, ibu dari Sat terdiagnosa kanker yang mana berdampak ke susahnya penjadwalan sesi rekaman ulang untuk mengganti data yang hilang tadi. Beberapa bulan kemudian, setelah merekam ulang di studio lama dan dengan beberapa alasan teknis, sesi rekaman pun akhirnya dipindah ke studio baru dan mengulang seluruh prosesnya dari nol. Setelah proses rekaman di Palembang selesai. Dhony mengeksekusi bagiannya di Jakarta dengan merekam bass dan vokal di sana.

Data rekaman yang telah selesai kemudian dikirim balik ke Palembang dan diproses oleh Sat untuk mixing dan mastering. Hingga akhirnya SUMAR pun merilis “Isolation” di akhir tahun 2022. “Isolation” kemudian masuk ke dalam album kompilasi bonus dari rilisan versi cetak Consumed Magazine edisi perdana di tahun 2023.

Album “Hectic Chaotic” sendiri ditulis di masa yang sangat tidak stabil. Ada banyak gejolak yang terjadi dalam proses produksi album ini, baik secara internal band maupun secara eksternal. Gejolak internal band mungkin suatu hal yang lumrah terjadi seperti di band lain pada umumnya dan untuk gejolak eksternal dalam skala kecil dan personal bisa dilihat dari sudut pandang apa yang sedang dihadapi oleh masing-masing personil dalam kehidupan personal ataupun lingkup kerjanya masing-masing. Berkutat dengan lingkungan kerja yang toxic dan stres, merawat orang tua yang sakit, mencari pekerjaan, dan sebagainya.

Gejolak secara eksternal dalam skala besar pun bisa dilihat dari apa yang disuguhkan melalui berita media tiap harinya. Beberapa yang masih berada dalam sorot lampu hingga hari ini adalah peperangan yang terjadi dan memicu konflik secara global. Mau tidak mau apa yang kita lihat sehari-sehari lah yang akan masuk ke dalam pikiran dan alam bawah sadar kita. Segala kesibukan dan kekacauan ini lah yang bisa dibilang jadi benang merah dari lagu-lagu yang ada di album ini.
